Monash University, officially translated as "Monash University", is a large public comprehensive university in Australia. It was founded in 1958 and is located in Melbourne, the capital of Victoria. It is one of the eight prestigious universities in Australia and a five-star university. There are five campuses in total, all located near Melbourne, with the main campus located in Clayton, the southeast district of Melbourne. There are also overseas branches located in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and Johannesburg, South Africa, with research centers in Prato, Italy and London, UK.

Monash University is named after the renowned Australian leader Sir John Monash, but is essentially a publicly funded comprehensive university. Sir John Monash served in the military for many years, held a prominent position, and was also a renowned outstanding engineer and public utility manager

His portrait is printed on Australian banknotes as a commemoration.

The city of Melbourne, where Monash University is located, is the capital and largest city of Victoria and the second most populous city in Australia. It has been ranked among the top three best cities to live in the world by The Economist magazine for many years. The 2015 QS Best Study Abroad Cities ranking placed Melbourne second in the world, only behind Paris.

Monash Southeast University

Monash University and Southeast University in China have established a joint school - Southeast University Monash University Joint Graduate School, located in Suzhou Industrial Park, which enrolls master's and doctoral students. The graduate school was founded in 2012 with a planned enrollment of 2000 students. The courses taught by the professor are very extensive, including business, engineering, information technology, science, humanities, design, and more.
